White. Bright. Fresh. Warm. Anna can’t describe it, her body swarming with a light feeling. She feels so at home, fluttering her eyes open, the scent of freshly baked bread and mother’s perfume drowns her senses. With a strength she never thought she’d see again, she runs across the fields ahead, the flower petals swept by the wind. The distant sound of laughter comes and goes like the wind. Anna stops, tripping on her clean, white dress. That laughter, it sounds so familiar. With a thought, she runs, following the soft breeze further into the field.
Levi couldn’t help the smile on his face, his mom’s small snorts of laughter and the broad grin on his father’s face, have finally seen the light of day after three years. The flush in their cheeks returns, they are happy. They escaped the cruel world and the blood-thirsty war. Along the laughter came Mrs. Levy’s, her’s an airy, softer tone, her hand intertwined with Mr. Levy’s. After waking up to this strange place, so full of happiness and light, Levi’s blurred vision could only make out a pale face, and eyes so warm it brought a smile to his face. He thought it was Anna, only to be met with his mom. The tears just fell, the adoration in her laughter as she cradled her weeping son, was too much for Levi. “Aww, you did so well, my little man.” He missed her so much. And now, his cheeks hurt from all his smiling. Though, happily reunited, he feels like he was missing something, missing someone. “Levi, honey, are you ok?” “Hm?” Mind clearing, Levi notices their worried expressions on their faces, before Mrs. Levy’s face catches his attention. Her auburn eyes look so familiar, the glint of sassy, passion, and innocence, it was something he couldn’t place. Where was it from?
“Mom? Dad?” All thoughts are cast aside, the breeze dancing around with the voice. It clicks. Anna, Mrs. Levy looks like Anna. No, scratch that, Anna looks just like her mother. A smile graces his face again as they share a glance. With a tight embrace from her parents, a few tears here and there, Levi flashes Anna a 1,000-watt smile and a flirtatious wink. “Oh. Darling, have you met Mr and Mrs. Rosen’s son? You two should introduce yourselves.” Red hinting Anna’s cheeks, she exchanges a brief glance with him, before sticking her hand out stiffly. Grasping it gently, Levi brightens up, a mischievous glint in his smile. “I’m Levi, Levi Rosen. And you are, pretty lady?” With a soft roll of her eyes, her cheeks reddening even more, Levi chuckles, and she lets a smirk slip. “Anna Levy. Cut it with the familiarity, we’ve only just met, pretty boy.”
